Manchester United came out victorious with a 1-0 win in a UEFA Champions League clash with Arsenal. Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admits his team achieved his pre-game objective after the win. John O'Shea scored the only goal of the UEFA Champions League semi-final, first leg to give the holders the edge ahead of next week's return at Emirates Stadium.United created numerous chances, with Cristiano Ronaldo rattling the crossbar with a dipping shot and Arsenal keeper Manuel Almunia in fine form between the posts.Ferguson wanted a win and a clean sheet before kick-off and was not downcast at his side's failure to build up a bigger advantage.
